Nigel Thompson (podiatrist) and Jess Pike (physiotherapist) are local residents who have over 30 years combined experience in providing allied health care to people of all ages and all walks of life. They have 2 young boys, and are actively involved in the local community. They both enjoy weekend soccer with their boys, fishing, family life and enjoying the beautiful surroundings of the Great Lakes area.
Nigel Thompson is a university qualified Podiatrist, completing his 4 year full-time degree in 2000 at the University of Western Sydney. Nigel has additional university qualifications in complementary medicine (acupuncture) and myotherapy (3 year full time Associate Diploma in muscular therapy and dry needling). He also completed a Tafe Certificate In Fitness Leadership whilst working as a myotherapist.
Before moving to Sydney to study Podiatry, Nigel successfully ran a sports injury/muscular therapy clinic in Victoria for almost 10 years, during which time he developed a keen interest in biomechanics and lower limb function. During this time he also worked alongside podiatrists at the Australian Institute of Sport, treating a range of lower limb injuries, which stimulated him to further his studies and enrol in the Podiatry degree at the University of Western Sydney.
Jessica Pike studied Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney, completing her training in 1999. Since graduating, Jess has worked in the UK, Sydney, Newcastle, Taree and Forster in a variety of hospital and private practice settings. Jess is focused on evidence based treatments and therefore keeps up to date with all the latest physiotherapy knowledge via regular weekend and evening courses around NSW and online.She really enjoys helping people recover from injuries and surgery, and also provides a home visit service for those who need it. Jess provides a physiotherapy service for any part of the body, not just the Lower Limb!
